Introduced as the flagship of the elegant W114 ‘/8’ range, the stylish 280CE coupe combined understated luxury with sophisticated engineering to create one of the finest grand touring cars of its era.

This example, one of just 24,669 280C and 280CE coupes built between 1969 and 1976 (there were 67,048 coupes constructed overall, in contrast to 1,852,008 saloons) is beautifully presented in Light Metallic Green with contrasting tan leather interior. It’s a combination that shows off its crisp Paul Bracq styling, with vertical headlamps and pillarless side windows, extremely well, illustrating why it was one of Mercedes-Benz's most admired post-war designs.

Power comes from the silky smooth 2746cc twin-overhead-cam M110 six-cylinder engine with Bosch fuel injection, delivering effortless performance through a four-speed automatic transmission. It makes this classic equally at home on winding country roads as it is covering long motorway distances.
